Eins

For five days, Pascal Merighi and Florence Minder went into a kind of laboratory to sound out the individual artistic universes in which they normally move. They shifted space and time, searched for common patterns of movement, created physical scores only to deconstruct them, and played with their ancestral roles and their attributions. On 19 and 20 October, at the Prinz Regent Theater in Bochum, the two artists presented eins & eins = eins, a performative installation that offered an insight into this process, with compositional and musical accompaniment by the Spanish composer and musician Mikel R. Nieto.

Pascal Merighi trained as a dancer at the Rosella Hightower International Dance Center in Cannes and spent five years as a dancer at Tanzforum Köln under the direction of Jochen Ulrich. From 1999 to 2013 he was a member of the ensemble of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch. Parallel to his dancing career, he also works as an actor, choreographer and dramaturge in England, Germany, France and Switzerland. In 2018 he founded the company merighi | mercy with Thusnelda Mercy.

Florence Minder, born in Switzerland and living in Brussels, is a writer and actress. Her writing for the stage aims at a radical interaction with the audience. She always succeeds in creating forms of expression specific to each context, such as Good Mourning!, Vostbil or Calendrier de l’Avent. She works, among others, with the dancers Thusnelda Mercy, Pascal Merighi and Fabien Prioville and with the writers Karen Köhler and Sarah Berthiaume.
