44 (Or my name forty-four times in José Iges’s mouth) is a short piece with a looped track of my name repeated forty-four times by José Iges. His voice is one of the most recognizable voices in Spanish Sound Art. The used original audio archive came from the catalog of the exhibition “Listening with the eyes – Sound art in Spain 1961 – 2016″ which contains a small white fake cassette with a selection of sound works from the exhibition. Each track is preceded by the voice of José Iges indicating the track number, the name of the artist and the name of the piece, just before the sound work itself. The number 44 corresponds to an excerpt from “Machine Pattern # 01“. Produced in Madrid and San Sebastián (2017). Many thanks to José Luis Maire & José Iges.
