44 (Or my name forty-four times in José Iges’s mouth) is a short piece: a looped track of my name repeated forty-four times by José Iges, whose voice is one of the most recognizable in Spanish sound art. The original audio came from the catalogue of the exhibition “Listening with the eyes – Sound art in Spain 1961–2016”, which includes a small white fake cassette with a selection of sound works from the exhibition. Each track is preceded by José Iges’s voice announcing the track number, the name of the artist and the title of the piece, just before the sound work itself. Number 44 corresponds to an excerpt from Machine Pattern # 01.
