Listen and protect

A collective reading of testimonies by refugees who survived the Mediterranean Sea: a raw, non-performative situation that took place at a friend’s home in Ustaritz (France) in May 2019. One microphone, one loudspeaker and a selection of survivors’ testimonies collected by SOS MEDITERRANEE, read aloud by the audience attending the event. The title is taken from an article by the same organisation, and the testimonies from “Voices from the sea”.

Acknowledgements

Dedicated to every refugee who has died in the Mediterranean Sea.

Many thanks to the audience who read and listened to the testimonies.
