The burden of identity

The burden of identity is about the limits of the soundscape’s identity. This proposal is a commitment to listening to a place in order to understand the social structures associated with many of the urban and natural sounds to which we are exposed; in it, the soundscape reflects on itself through sound recordings and field interviews. The soundscape is becoming increasingly iconic and stereotypical, which emphasizes the need to create our own identity in our listening by establishing the boundaries between global and local places. The artist therefore faces the challenge of reinterpreting the landscape anew in order to reconstruct our own identity as listeners.
