Untitled 18

“Untitled # 18” is a sound composition made with underwater recordings. It contains field recordings from the Mediterranean coast and from offshore waters where cetaceans such as striped dolphins live. The recordings were made with special hydrophones built by biologists who, in collaboration with the University of Barcelona and Barcelona Zoo, are researching the differences between the night-time and daytime communication of striped dolphins. The piece gathers excerpts from a trip made to search for and collect such data; the recordings are not modified, only placed one after the other.
